Sheriff Nathaniel Daugherty

Nathaniel Daugherty was born about 1797 in Tennessee. He served as sheriff in Van Buren County from 1833 to 1835 and was in the 1840 census still residing in the county. He bought land in Van Buren County near Bloomington in 1848, but was in Kaufman County, Texas in the 1850 census. Nathaniel was county commissioner in Kaufman County in 1858 and died between 1860 and 1870.
