Sheriff John W. Whillock

John William Whillock was born September 18, 1868 in Searcy County, Arkansas and died November 20, 1935 and is buried in Clinton Cemetery. His parents were George Washington and Margaret Irene Robertson Whillock. Mr. Whillock married Rebecca Jane Willcox September 25, 1887 in Marshall, Arkansas. He was a lumber man and a farmer. His most notable act as sheriff was tearing down the gallows in March 1913.
