Stolen truck from County Yard leads in pursuit.

On Monday evening, February 6th, 2017, a Silver Dodge Pickup was reported stolen from the Van Buren County Road Department yard. Later that evening Conway County Deputies got into pursuit with the vehicle and lost contact with it. On February 7th, 2017, Conway County reported someone seeing the vehicle in the Austin area of State Highway 9 toward Clinton. Van Buren County Deputies located the vehicle traveling east on State Highway 9 and proceeded pursuing the vehicle on County Line road in Van Buren County. After a short pursuit, Deputies reported the vehicle stopped in the middle of County Line Road and the driver fled into the woods. A search was done for the driver of the vehicle by Van Buren County Deputies, assisted by the Arkansas State Police, Conway County Sheriff’s Office, Clinton Police Department, Arkansas Game and Fish, and Arkansas Department of Correction K-9 tracking unit. Law Enforcement was unable to locate the suspect, but the investigation is still on going and arrest are pending. The vehicle was recovered. The suspect was involved into a store break-in in Conway County and possibly a store in Scotland in Van Buren County. Sheriff Bradley wants to thank all agencies involved for the search for the suspect.

Anyone having information of the suspect in this incident and his possible location, is encouraged to contact Law Enforcement. All information will remain anonymous.
