Residential Burglary Solved

The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department has investigated a Residential Burglary case to the conclusion and subsequent arrest of a Saline County man. The investigation began on February 16, 2016 when a resident in theFairbanksarea of Van Buren County reported that he had interrupted a burglary where four male suspects had burglarized his property but had not left the scene yet. The suspects overpowered him and fled the scene. Investigators processed what little evidence was left behind and exhausted all possible investigative leads. The evidence collected was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for routine analysis.
In January of 2014, the State Crime Lab contacted the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department with results of the processed evidence. The collected evidence was tested for DNA which returned to a man who was incarcerated inSalineCountyat the time. Investigators then sought and received a warrant for Felony charges for the suspects involvement due to having been linked to the crime via DNA evidence.
Donald Camp, 23, of Solgohachia, has been charged with Residential Burglary and Theft of Property. Camp is was booked in at the Van Buren County Detention Center on Felony Charges. Camp was released on a $7500 bond.
